Metal Sales Denver Branch Unveils a 36,000 Square Foot Expansion

LOUISVILLE, KY… Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, the premier nationwide provider of metal panels for the building and construction industry, celebrates the recent expansion of its flourishing Denver location. Adding 36,000 square feet to the facility, the building now boasts 132,000 square feet total, and will use the new space to accommodate increasing demands.

Metal Sales has had a branch in Denver since the late 1970s, but relocated to its current location in nearby Longmont, CO in 1997. This branch services Colorado, South Dakota, Nebraska, Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico, Wyoming, Idaho, Utah and Arizona.

“Denver is the anchor facility in the Western Region,” explains Jim Waldron, Metal Sales President. “They are really a workhorse that not only do a great job in their own territory, but they are also very supportive to other branches in the region. We’re investing in Denver because they are doing great things, and we expect them to continue to do great things.”

The new facility will provide some “breathing room” from the increasingly cramped 1990s space. The branch’s stock and custom trim departments will relocate to the new area, facilitating better space utilization for equipment and products. The redesign also includes a new customer pickup section to improve the facility’s will-call process and overall customer service.

“This expansion will give us the opportunity to meet and/or exceed customer expectations as the market grows,” says Harry Austin, General Manager of the Metal Sales Denver branch. “We will have more space for raw materials, be able to operate more efficiently and be able to deliver products more smoothly. Ultimately, this growth is intended to improve customer satisfaction, and we are excited to see the kind of long-term impact it will have.”

Metal Sales celebrated the expansion with a large open house, attended by more than 160 customers, suppliers, local dignitaries and Metal Sales corporate and branch employees. Attendees were treated to a catered lunch and enjoyed speeches by Brandon Rearick, Vice President of the Carbon Valley Chamber of Commerce, Derek Todd, Town Administrator of Frederick, CO, and Byron Smith, Regional Vice President – West Region, for Metal Sales. Jim Waldron led the ribbon-cutting ceremony.

“We held the celebration to let everyone know what the facility’s new capabilities are,” continues Waldron. “Also, we wanted a chance for everyone to enjoy the opening together, because our success is hinged on our partnerships. The expanded facility is something the local branch should be very proud of, and the open house was a great way to commemorate its achievements.”

Construction on the expanded facility was finished in April 2011. The project team consisted of installer JP Erectors, La Salle, CO and Engineer B & C Steel, Denver, CO. Metal Sales’ own panels are featured on the building, including Seam-Loc 24 roof panels in Acrylic Coated Galvalume, with secondary structural members in Red Oxide. The exterior walls consist of Span-Line 36A in Light Stone and Ocean Blue as well as Stone Creek wall panels in Light Stone. The interior liner panels are Pro-Panel II in White.
