LOUISVILLE, KY… Metal Sales Manufacturing Corporation, the premier nationwide provider of metal panels for the building and construction industry, recently demonstrated its long-held commitment to charity by participating in a local miniature golf benefit event hosted by The Cabbage Patch non-profit organization.

The Cabbage Patch Settlement House, located in Metal Sales’ hometown of Louisville, KY, is an organization that seeks to “empower families and children to be self-sufficient by helping them maximize their spiritual, social, emotional, physical, moral, economic, and educational potential.” The group serves a diverse local population that includes a high proportion of poverty-stricken households and children, families that are headed by single mothers, and citizens over 25 who are not high school graduates. Its programs focus on recreation/youth development, education, and counseling and family services.

The organization’s newest event, “Putt fore The Patch” successfully debuted on April 13 at the Mellwood Arts & Entertainment Center. 54 teams of four arrived to play 18 holes of miniature golf, and were treated to cocktails and appetizers contributed by local chefs. Metal Sales was represented by a team of four employees from the corporate office.

“The event was really well organized and it was fun for all,” says Tim Luckett, Director of Human Resources for Metal Sales and Putt fore The Patch team member. “I remember visiting The Cabbage Patch as a young teen for their community events, and it is nice to have the chance to give back to such a worthy organization.”

Each hole on the course was endorsed by a local benefactor, including Metal Sales, which was a noted “signature hole sponsor”. The Metal Sales hole was decorated to represent the recent Kentucky Derby, and featured a horse with celebratory roses stretching down the green. It was designed by local interior design professionals, Details Commercial Group, LLC.

The event was attended by more than 250 players, spectators, and volunteers, who helped to raise over $15,000 for the organization. More information about The Cabbage Patch can be found at http://www.cabbagepatch.org/.
